Why I Chose a Domain Name as 2023 New Year's Present For Myself
My first domain name, worth $4,000 today, cost less than $3 back in 2019.
Back in 2019, I made the decision to start a blog website. I did some research about blogging, most of what I found about blogging was negative.
Many online reviewers said that blogging had been long dead and that it was unlikely to make a full-time income from it unless done part-time.

I purchased a domain, window3.com, from Godaddy for less than $3 with the goal of starting a blog about "The Third World Countries' Internet Challenges, Solutions and Opportunities Available".
At the time, there were few opportunities for success in online money-making ventures for Third World Countries, and I had limited knowledge of blogging platforms like Blogspot and WordPress.
The only known means of monetizing web traffic was through Google Adsense, but approval was more difficult than obtaining a college degree .
Additionally, affiliate programs like Clickbank were off-limits for African countries, including Nigeria. For these reasons, I quit my blogging ambition, which I now regret.
Fast forward to 2023, my once purchased domain name window3.com is now worth about $4,000, but I have lost it due to abandonment without renewal.
